Caring & Connected

So much is happening and it is happening at a rapid pace. How can we stay connected to our Church family and let others know we care? Pastor Kyle has these suggestions:

  • Check on your neighbors and fellow Church Members
  • Call or email the Church and let us know of prayer request and praises
  • Remain faithful in giving in your tithes and offerings. You can give online, mail it in to our PO Box 684, Princeton, KY 42445,  drop it by the office or we will even come and pick it up if you want us too!
  • Practice social distancing & keeping in touch with loved ones and friends via social media, texts and phone calls
  • Beginning tomorrow, Pastor Kyle will send out scripture that we can all study together

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.  Do not be slothful in zeal, be fervent in spirit, serve the Lord.   Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.   Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality.”
Romans 12:10-13

A Special Message From Your Pastor

Pastor Kyle Noffsinger

Southside Baptist Church:
Tomorrow will be business as usual but with a few minor changes. Doors will be propped open in order to eliminate the need to touch handles. Handshaking is strongly discouraged (though if you extend yours to me I won’t leave you hanging.) Also, instead of passing the offering plates ushers will be at each door at the conclusion of the service. If you do not feel well, or if you’re uncomfortable, please tune in to our television broadcast or listen online. Have a great nights sleep and I look forward to worshiping with you tomorrow.

Pastor Kyle

First & Foremost, Pray.
Please pray for those who are sick and their families and caretakers, for those who are living in fear and anxiousness, for the professionals who are providing medical care, for those working on treatments and a vaccine for COVID-19, and for our leaders to act with wisdom and courage as they make vital decisions that impact each of our lives.

Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. Hebrews 4:16
In an effort to practice leadership rather than reactionship, we would like to update you regarding some changes we will implement here at Southside Baptist Church due to the COVID-19 (coronavirus) concern. At this time we have no plans to cancel any of the services, but we will do so if it becomes  absolutely necessary. We are keeping close tabs on the situation and we will be updating you as the situation changes.

A few other suggestions that we would encourage you to take:
· If you are not feeling well, we ask that you stay home. If your child has a fever or flu-like symptoms, please keep them home as well. If you have to stay home please watch the television service or listen later in the week on our website  https://www.southsidebaptist.com/media/. The notes and Scriptures will also be available on the Media page with the download.
· You may also give your  tithe and offerings online here. Even if you are unable to attend ‘in the room’, it’s important that we be faithful in our tithes and offerings.
· Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
· Wash hands regularly using soap and water for a minimum of 20 seconds. If you cannot wash your hands, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
· Clean frequently touched objects and surfaces in your home and vehicle using regular household cleaning agents, such as Lysol or Clorox.

From Bro. Larry- Resolving Every Day Conflict & Of Minor Importance

I will be presenting a training on Resolving Everyday Conflict in the PM Service, Sunday, Dec. 1st. This is a KBC training I provide for several churches already. It helps a leader focus his or her mind and energy on responding to a source of conflict in a biblical manner. Today too many are responding to any irritations or conflicts as a major war and using ungodly ways to handling conflicts. I want to encourage all of our deacons, ministry leaders, and any person struggling with an issue of conflict in his or her life, marriage, work relationships, or at church. Please make time to attend and seek to learn God’s way of dealing with our conflicts.

I would also like for you to take time to read the article below. I love this and the writer’s wisdom. Let us keep our focus on serving the Lord and not the negative.
For we are God’s coworkers. 1 Cor 3:9

Blessings,
Bro. Larry

Of Minor Importance

Avoid foolish controversies.

 Titus 3:9

Our days are few and are far better spent in doing good than in disputing over matters that are, at best, of minor importance. The old scholars did a world of mischief by their incessant discussion of subjects of no practical importance; and our churches suffer too often from petty wars over obscure points and unimportant questions.

After everything has been said that can be said, neither party is any the wiser, and therefore the discussion promotes neither knowledge nor love, and it is foolish to sow in so barren a field.

Questions about issues on which Scripture is silent, on mysteries that belong to God alone, on prophecies of doubtful interpretation, and on mere modes of observing human ceremonials are all foolish, and wise men avoid them.

Our business is neither to ask nor answer foolish questions, but to avoid them altogether; and if we observe the apostle’s precept (Titus 3:8) to be careful to maintain good works, we will find ourselves occupied with so much profitable business that we will have no time to take much interest in unworthy, contentious, and needless strivings.

There are, however, some questions that are the reverse of foolish, which we must not avoid but fairly and honestly meet, such as these: Do I believe in the Lord Jesus Christ? Am I renewed in the spirit of my mind? Am I walking not after the flesh but after the Spirit? Am I growing in grace? Does my behavior adorn the doctrine of God my Savior? Am I looking for the coming of the Lord and watching as a servant should who expects his master? What more can I do for Jesus?

Such inquiries as these demand our urgent attention; and if we have been given at all to frivolous arguments, let us now turn our critical abilities to a much more profitable service. Let us be peacemakers and endeavor to lead others both by our precept and example to “avoid foolish controversies.”
